Gardai in Drogheda are investigating a complaint by a 16-year-old girl that she was indecently assaulted by two men. The girl is in residential care with the North-eastern Health Board. At the time of the alleged incident last Tuesday, she was believed to be attending a local secondary school. It is alleged that about 11.30 a.m. two men in a van picked her up near the town centre and she was driven around for about two hours, during which the assault occurred.
The health board confirmed it was aware of the allegation and it was co-operating with gardai.
