Arab foreign ministers wound up their two-day meeting in Cairo yesterday with little apparent progress on the thorny question of UN sanctions against Iraq.
One issue the ministers did discuss, however, was whether the US entertainment giant Disney should face sanctions if it goes ahead with a millennium exhibition showing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
The ministers have formed a committee which hopes to visit the exhibition, to open in Florida on October 1st, to ensure that it is not "manipulated" by Israel.
Although the resolution passed by the league stopped short of calling for a boycott of Disney products, it did warn the company not to breach any UN resolutions on the status of the city.
The issue of Jerusalem is at the heart of final status talks between the Israelis and Palestinians. "We cannot accept anything that would predetermine something that has to be determined through negotiations," the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Mr Amr Moussa, told delegates.
