BRIEFS:Your Rights Right Now, Ireland's civil society campaign on the UN's Universal Periodic Review, hosts live coverage of Ireland's next appearance in Geneva before the United Nations Human Rights Council, on Thursday March 12th from 10.30am in the Connolly Room, Liberty Hall, Dublin 1.

Clarification

In an article published last week entitled “Internet Cookies”, it was stated that we must await the new E-Privacy Regulations before we will precisely know how the new cookie regime will apply. The E-Privacy Regulations have been effective since July 1st 2011. The article was originally published on the Mason Hayes Curran website on 30th May 2011.

Prisoners’ rights in Dublin Castle

The Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT) is holding a seminar on prisoner rights and prisoner complaints on Friday March 30th in the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin Castle. The Northern Ireland Prisoner Ombudsman, Pauline McCabe, will be the keynote speaker and a new publication Your Rights as a Prisonerwill be launched.
