Seven climbers yesterday completed the Five Peaks charity climb of the five highest mountains in Britain and Ireland

Seven climbers yesterday completed the Five Peaks charity climb of the five highest mountains in Britain and Ireland. The group descended to the foot of Ben Nevis in Scotland, the last of the five peaks in the challenge, at 11.19 a.m., after 29 hours and 19 minutes of almost continuous climbing.

The climbers who completed the challenge were: Mr John Morrison, organiser of the event; Mr Sean O'Sullivan; Ms Fidelma Kilbride; Ms Grainne Quinn; Mr Peter Maher; Mr D. O'Connor and Ms Siobhan Saunders.

They were raising funds for Focus Ireland.
