VIENNA Cases of thyroid cancer among children in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia have risen 200 per cent since the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said yesterday, citing data from the World Health Organisation.
