A home in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, was the latest to suffer a pipe-bomb attack when a device was thrown through a window in the early hours of this morning.
The RUC said shortly before 2 a.m. a device was thrown through the window of a house in the Woodburn estate where a couple and four children were living. There were no injuries, but the living room was damaged.
Sinn Féin estimates there have been more than 240 pipe-bomb attacks in the North in the first eight months of this year.
North Belfast Sinn Féin councillor Mr Danny Lavery said there had been a number of sectarian attacks in North Belfast over the weekend, including petrol bomb attacks and attempted abductions.
"These attacks are part of a sustained campaign against the nationalist people in the Whitewell area which is clearly being orchestrated by the UDA," Mr Lavery said.
