British soldiers hurt in Co Down stabbings

Two British soldiers have been injured, one seriously, in separate stabbings at a military base in Co Down.

Two British soldiers have been injured, one seriously, in separate stabbings at a military base in Co Down.

The army confirmed today that a number of soldiers are being questioned by police about the attacks.

Royal Military Police are also carrying out their own inquiry at Abercorn Barracks, Ballykinler where the 2nd Battalion Royal Green Jackets are based.

The first stabbing happened on April 10th and the second on May 7th when a soldier was stabbed in the stomach.

It is not known if the incidents were related.
