Representatives from British Nuclear Fuels are expected to attend a public forum on Sellafield in Drogheda, Co Louth on Saturday.

The Minister of State for Energy Mr Joe Jacob will also attend the meeting, which will address the threat to citizens posed by the nuclear reprocessing operation.

The forum is being hosted by Fine Gael Senator Fergus O'Dowd and will hear submissions from the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland .

The Government is currently taking legal action under EU and UN law over the British government’s decision to re-open its mixed oxide plant at Sellafield.
