Aer Lingus flights to New York will resume tomorrow but could be subject to delays in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Flights EI-109 Dublin to New York and EI-108 New York to Dublin are currently planned to operate on schedule tomorrow, but the EI-105 Dublin to New York flight will be delayed by at least four hours. The EI-104 New York to Dublin flight will also be delayed.
Aer Lingus flights to and from Dublin and Shannon to Orlando, Chicago and Boston will operate according to schedule tomorrow, but passengers are being advised that major disruptions to public transport services are expected.
All transatlantic Aer Lingus flights to New York and Boston were cancelled today as the storm closed in on the east coast.
Customers affected by the cancellations can change their flights to another date online free of charge. Passengers who want to cancel their flight will receive a full refund.
“We continue to closely monitor the path of the storm and it’s after effects and will update this page with any changes to our schedule as they develop,” an Aer Lingus spokesman said.
British Airways cancelled all its flights to and from New York, Newark, Baltimore, Washington DC, Boston and Philadelphia today, and disruptions to the schedule are expected to continue tomorrow.
Virgin Atlantic also cancelled all services to and from New York, Newark, Boston and Washington today, with a number of early morning flights tomorrow also affected.
A Virgin spokeswoman said: “Details of arrangements for affected passengers, including rebooking and extended hotel-stay compensation can be found on our website.
"Our flights to America had been very busy at the beginning of this week due to the half-term school holiday. It’s very unfortunate that this major storm has come when it has."
A BA spokesman said: “Our other US flights are operating normally and we are also able to fly as usual to Toronto and Montreal in Canada.
