Jakarta - The Indonesian President, Mr Abdurrahman Wahid, dismissed fears of an explosion of unrest as he flew out of the crisis-racked country for a two-week trip to Africa and the Middle East yesterday, but bloodshed escalated even before he boarded his aircraft.
More than 75 people have been killed in a revival of ethnic violence in the remote central Kalimantan province of Borneo, officials and media said. About 15,000 people have fled their homes to seek shelter at police posts and government offices.
