The Minister for Health and Children, Mr Cowen, yesterday announced funding of £4 million towards a 35-bed acute psychiatric unit at Ennis General Hospital, Co Clare. His announcement comes ahead of an imminent decision by the Mid-Western Health Board to sanction the sale of Our Lady's Psychiatric Hospital, Ennis, for £2.44 million.
