What’s your earliest holiday memory?

Keavy:From a young age we went to the Algarve every summer. They had really big fire hydrants, which we would call "bee-dee bee-dee" because they looked like R2-D2 from Star Wars. As soon as we'd arrive, we'd give a fire hydrant a huge kiss and a hug. They were on every street, but we thought they were following us!

Edele: I remember going to a caravan in Donabate regularly as kids. We would be the only kids allowed out on the street when it was raining because our mam was the only one who had a clothes dryer!

What was your worst holiday?

Keavy:I stayed with a friend in Spain who lived with four other girls who were the most untidy people I ever met. One day I scrubbed the apartment clean and no-one said anything. One of them knocked over a pot-plant and it smashed. I refused to pick it up, but it stayed on the floor for three days!

Edele: A long time ago, I surprised a boyfriend who was in Las Vegas for New Year's Eve. I had organised to get a key to his hotel room – but when I got there, he was in the room with someone else. I nearly died! He was dumped! I flew to Tobago to meet up with Keavy, so at least the end of the holiday was good.

What was your best holiday?

Keavy:For my dad's retirement the whole family, including nieces and nephews, rented a cabin in Maine for 10 days. It was in the mountains at minus 16 degrees outside and we got to go snowmobiling.

Edele:My honeymoon to Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives was just amazing. When you see the blue and picturesque photos of the Maldives, they are not enhanced. We went on a cruise to a deserted island and had anything we wanted packed in a picnic basket. It was real honeymoon stuff, with the rooms on stilts in the middle of the water and a plunge pool.

If budget or work were no restriction, what would be your dream holiday?

Keavy:I'd go where Edele went on honeymoon.

Edele: There's another island in the Maldives which sounds amazing as you get your own boat, chef and butler to look after you all the time. So I'd go there for six months!

If you had your pick, who would you bring on holidays with you?

Keavy:I'm single, so Jared Leto for now.

Edele:I'm married, so my kids and husband.

Your recommended holiday reading?

Keavy: I like romantic comedy, or a true story, something heart-breaking. A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer was so sad it nearly ruined one holiday, but also reminds you of how lucky you are.

Edele:I don't like reading that much but when I do, I like to read something true that I can learn from, such as philosophy books or The Princess Trilogy by Jean Sasson.

What’s your favourite place in Ireland?

Keavy:I live in London, so it's Dublin as I get to see all my family and friends.

Edele:Powerscourt Waterfall, Co Wicklow. I live close to it and like to go up the hill and sit there.

Where to next?

Keavy:I'll visit a friend in Florence in May.

Edele:Next to Brighton.
