Every Sunday night, Optimo DJs Keith McIvor Jonnie Wilkes hit the decks at Glasgow’s Sub Club. Sometimes, there’s a live act on the bill – recent visitors have included Amazing Baby, Little Boots, Fan Death and Mi Ami – but mostly, Optimo features the pair playing head-spinning sounds drawn from the “music that can be danced to” category, which covers just about anything and everything.

Aside from rocking the dancefloor, they’re dab hands at the compilations game. The Kill the DJ, Psyche Out and last year’s glorious Sleepwalk releases well are worth investigating to get a sample of their sound. Here are two DJs who aren’t afraid to put some freaky gear between your ears. Support from the Shock! DJs, while the Stereotonic and Republik crews line out downstairs with Gavin Boyce, Warren Sauvage, Paul Mac and Conor L.
