Film Fleadh sprouts a fringe

It seems that the always tasty Galway Film Fleadh, which begins on Tuesday, has picked up a fringe. The mini-festival, organised by FilmmakersNetwork.ie, will screen new Irish shorts that failed to make it into the main event.

“There’s a real desire to give these films a second chance,” says network founder Jason Butler. “It’s an opportunity for genre films, more experimental works and shorts that are a bit rougher round the edges, but no less exciting or interesting, to get screened.”

The screenings will take place in the Town Hall Theatre on Friday, July 7th at 7.00pm. Admission is €5.
