Early Victorian oil lamps among Dublin fair items

A COLLECTION of early Victorian oil lamps with ruby glass globes will be among the items for sale at the antiques and collectables fair in the Davenport Hotel, Merrion Square, Dublin, tomorrow.

More than 40 stands, featuring Victorian and Edwardian gold and silver jewellery, as well as an unusual collection of early 20th century jewellery from Mexico will be on offer. There will also be a range of early Irish silver tableware, including coffee sets, tea sets and candleabras for sale.

The fair will also feature a selection of antique furniture, including occasional tables, chaise longue and gilt overmantles. Other items for sale include linen, lace, coins, medals, postcards, limited edition model toy soldiers and advertising and film memorabilia, militaria (including World War 11 armoury and uniforms), oils and prints.

The fair begins at 10.30 a.m. and it is a fortnightly event presented by Old Coach House Fairs.

Now it is back to business, and he plans to hold the first of a series of antiques fairs in Kinnegad, Co Westmeath, on July 28th and 29th. The two day sale will be held at Harry's, Kinnegad.
