The Bush Theatre in west London has been a launchpad for new work by Sebastian Barry, Conor McPherson, Billy Roche, Declan Hughes, Alex Johnston, Enda Walsh and Mark O'Rowe over the past seven years. During this time it has helped develop a keen audience for Irish theatre in London, in many cases premiΦring plays which subsequently transferred to Dublin. Now the Bush's general manager, Deborah Aydon, is moving to Dublin to become executive producer of RoughMagic Theatre Company, replacing Siobhβn Bourke, who is pursuing her interests in film production.

Having worked successfully with so many Irish playwrights, Aydon will have a lot to bring to the position, and her connection with Rough Magic is close and long-established: the company made its London dΘbut at the Bush in 1992, with Declan Hughes's Digging For Fire, and the two companies co-produced his play New Morning.
