Rugby Digest: Will Greenwood has given Andy Robinson the full backing of England's players as he bids to follow in the footsteps of Clive Woodward.

Robinson will make a presentation to the RFU today in the hope of becoming England head coach - the position vacated by Woodward last month.

Greenwood is in little doubt Robinson is the best man for the job. "He has already been bringing his own ideas and tactics in. Only time will tell if they work but all the players who have worked with Andy give him their absolute support.

"He has our total confidence and everyone believes he will be the top man for the job. You won't find any dissenting voices on that point."

AUSTRALIA: Captain George Gregan is set to sign a deal to play for the Wallabies for another three seasons, including the 2007 World Cup in France, according to newspaper reports.

The 31-year-old scrumhalf is Australia's most-capped player with 102 caps, 12 short of the world record held by England prop Jason Leonard on 114.

Gregan captained Australia at last year's World Cup where the Wallabies lost to England in the final in Sydney.

"Wallaby captain George Gregan will today end speculation about his playing future by signing a new three-year contract with the Australian Rugby Union to take him through to the next World Cup," Sydney's Daily Telegraph newspaper said.
