Tonight's Bank Of Ireland Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan may be no Grand National, but with a £14,000 prize fund it's still a very respectable pot and it's no surprise to see Ted and Ruby Walsh eyeing it with some intent.

The blinkered Gabby Hayes is no world beater but he does come here on the back of a reasonable run behind Tisrabraq at Navan where Aerleon Pete, was a disappointing favourite.

Charlie Swan is back on board Aerleon Pete, but although the six-year-old and Bregogue are sure to figure, Gabby Hayes is just given the nod. Swan can hit the score sheet, however, with Assegai in the second maiden hurdle as this one ran a reasonable second to Rainbow Victor at Navan last time.

Dr Torus jumped very poorly on his last start in January, but a reading of his Fairyhouse bumper win from Forrestfield and Tuesday shows his latent talent. Just bare adequacy over the flights should see Dr Torus score.
