Shannon went top of the AIL today as Cork Constitution, who were top this morning, could only manage a 12-12 draw to Garryowen at home. Shannon beat Co Carlow 44-3.

Clontarf’s win over Terenure sees them overtake the Lakelands outfit near the top.

UCD, who started the day in third, suffered a surprising defeat to DLSP. However, they did manage to gain a bonus point for losing by less than seven points.

While DLSP will welcome the win, they still remain second from bottom ahead of Young Munster and behind Carlow who both lost today. St Mary’s victory over Dungannon means that the Ulster men are just four points ahead of DLSP and two ahead of Carlow.
