Gardaí are warning motorists about possible traffic congestion around lunch-time tomorrow in Dublin’s Merrion Square due to a protest by taxi drivers.

Taxi drivers are planning to congregate in three locations - Airways Retail Park in Swords, Liffeyvalley shopping centre and Stillorgan Shopping centre  - at midday and then travel in a convoy to Merrion Square.

It is estimated that they will leave the above locations at 12.30pm and arrive in Merrion Square at 1.30pm. They intend to protest at Government Buildings  for an hour.

Parking restrictions will be in place in Merrion Square, Fitzwilliam Street Upper and Lower tomorrow morning and will be in place until after this protest.

Gardaí will be monitoring the protest and are asking public to be mindful of possible delays and plan accordingly.
