Five schools took part in a workshop concert at St Patrick's Hall, Dublin Castle, last week hosted by Micheal Martin, the Minister for Education and Science.

The schools, which were involved in the composition of 14 works for the concert, are Colaiste Choilm, Ballincollig, Co Cork; Loretto College, Mullingar, Co Westmeath; Our Lady's College, Greenhills, Drogheda; St Raphaela's, Stillorgan, Co Dublin; and Presentation De La Salle Secondary School, Bagnelstown, Co Carlow.

Organised by the National Chamber Choir, the concert is part of an education programme aimed at Transition Year and senior-cycle students. The NCC also targets primary school children. This week it will hold Torc of Gold workshops in six Cork primary schools and next week the group will give workshops in six Dublin primary schools.
