Washington - Independent counsel Mr Robert Ray said yesterday there was insufficient evidence to warrant criminal charges against President Clinton and Mrs Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Whitewater land deal in Arkansas.
He said the office investigated whether the President and the first lady committed any criminal offences, including perjury or obstruction of justice, in their testimony or conduct. The White House welcomed the findings.
