An Iberian Airlines flight bound for Madrid turned back to the Netherlands this evening after a passenger on board threatened to blow up the plane, police said.
All 165 passengers were evacuated when the plane landed safely at Amsterdam's Schipol airport, a spokesman at Schiphol's police department said.
"A passenger screamed that a bomb was on board," the spokesman said. "We have arrested the man and all passengers are safe."
Police sent in sniffer dogs but had not yet found any explosives, police officers told a news conference.
