Moscow - Five people were killed and 26 injured when three explosions rocked a military town in southern Russia, officials said yesterday. The blasts occurred at 0230 GMT in Sputnik, a military town near Vladikavkaz, the capital of Russia's volatile North Ossetia region in the northern Caucasus. The explosions went off in three separate buildings and damaged 18 apartments, Interfax reported.
Altogether eight bombs, packed with 2.5 kg of TNT, were planted in homes in the town.
