Portlaoise from €205,000: Apartments go on sale this weekend at Fairgreen Village, a major new residential and commercial development about 1.5 miles from the centre of Portlaoise.

Gandon Hall is the apartment element of this newly-created village, taking shape off the N80 Portlaoise to Tullamore Road. Forty-two two-bedroom apartments are for sale, with more than half pre-sold from plans.

Considering the specification, prices are affordable by city standards, with 59-86sq m (630-930sq ft) two-bedroom apartments ranging from €205,000 to €220,000. Portarlington-based developer Owenass Residential is using its own marketing wing, Owenass Direct, to sell Gandon Hall. Finish is excellent by most standards. The apartments come with flooring, appliances, wardrobes and contemporary fittings that compare with anything on the Dublin market. A furniture package is available for investors.

Standard features include plasma screen televisions, modern bathrooms with Jacuzzi bath, minimalist shower screens and choice of tiles. Good-sized kitchens come with appliances and choice of floor tiles; bedrooms are fitted with deep pile carpets and wardrobes.
