Percana, a Dublin-based consultancy that provides software services and advice to the life and pensions industry, is to invest €1.5 million in research and development, creating 27 new high-value jobs.

Minister for Enterprise Micheál Martin will today announce the investment, which is being supported by Enterprise Ireland.

"Percana is an excellent example of an ambitious Irish company successfully competing in an internationally-traded services sector," he said, adding that the investment would help the group increase its international competitiveness and export potential.

Paul O'Kane, executive chairman of Percana, welcomed the support of Enterprise Ireland, saying that it had come at a pivotal time in the company's growth cycle. "We are currently in the process of implementing new structures to improve our process and delivery capabilities and have made significant changes to our management structure.
