Una Mullally’s relentless negativity

A chara, – Una Mullally's relentless negativity-mongering ("We may be on the brink of a new era of emigration", Opinion, August 30th) has at this point entered the realm of the farcical.

The bleak, soulless, chronically depressed Dublin she portrays bears no resemblance to the thriving cosmopolitan city I live in.

Doom-laden opinion pieces must carry a modicum of evidence-based inquiry to be credible. Instead, we are inundated with fact-free proclamations such as “primarily artists and younger creatives are emigrating”, or “the baldness of the city as a place to hang out”.
