A woman cyclist aged in her 30s remains in a serious condition today after she was struck by a car on the N68 Ennis to Kilrush road in Co Clare yesterday.

The woman was one of a group of three women cyclists who were injured in the incident which occurred at about 1.30pm between Darragh and Lissycasey.

Two of them suffered injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

It is understood the cyclists were members of a local club on a regular training session. The male driver of the car was not injured.

Gardaí from Kilrush are investigating.
