All-Ireland club hurling semi-finals switched due to frozen pitch at Semple Stadium

Allianz League game also moved following pitch inspection in Thurles

Saturday’s All-Ireland club hurling semi-finals will not now be played at Semple Stadium after the Thurles venue was deemed unplayable due to a frozen pitch.

The two games were due to be played as a double-header but will now go to separate venues, both throwing in at 2.0pm on Saturday.

The meeting of Gort and Ballyhale Shamrocks will now take place at O’Connor Park in Tullamore, while Kilmallock and Portaferry now meet at Cusack Park in Mullingar.

Tipperary’s footballers are also forced to change venue, with their Allianz League Division 3 clash with Limerick now taking place at Templetuohy on Sunday, with a 2.0pm throw-in.
