How to listen to the Atlantic Podcast on Apple, Google and other podcast apps

To listen to the Atlantic podcast on a 3rd party podcast app, you will need an first become an Irish Times subscriber by signing up here. If you are already a subscriber, please ensure you are signed in.

The Atlantic podcast is an original Irish Times podcast, produced in 2019 to mark the 2009 disappearance of Peter Bergmann in Sligo.

To add this podcast to your Apple Podcasts app

• Copy the podcast feed link using the button above.
• Open the Apple Podcasts app on your device.
• Tap the ‘Library’ tab at the bottom of the screen.
• Tap the ‘Edit’ button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
• Tap the ‘Follow a Show by URL’ option.
• Paste in the podcast feed URL and tap ‘Follow’.
• The podcast will be added to your library, and you can start listening to it. You will only need to add the RSS feed to the Apple Podcasts app once.

To add the Atlantic podcast to your Google podcast app on an Apple device:

• Copy the podcast feed link using the button above.
• Open the Google Podcasts app on your device
• Tap the ‘Activity’ icon at the bottom of the screen.
• Tap on the ‘Subscriptions’ tab at the top of the screen.
• Tap the ‘...’ to access menu on top right
• Select ‘Add by RSS feed’
• Paste the podcast feed URL into the box and hit ‘Subscribe’
• The podcast is now added to your library for listening.

To add the Atlantic podcast to your Google podcast app on an Android device

• Open the Google Podcasts app on your device.
• Tap the ‘Library’ icon at the bottom of the screen.
• Select ‘Subscriptions’ at the top of the screen.
• Tap the ‘+link’ icon at the top right of the screen.
• Paste the podcast feed link into the box and tap ‘Subscribe’
• The podcast is now added to your library for listening.

Other podcasting apps that allow a feed to be uploaded should work in the same way as Google and Apple do, outlined above. Spotify does not support this. Irish Times podcasts can also be listened to on our site (here) and our app.
