An outbreak of the winter vomiting bug has led to visiting restrictions being imposed on a number of hospitals in the south of the country.

Relatives and friends of patients in Bantry General Hospital, Mercy University Hospital, and the South Infirmary/Victoria University Hospital have been asked to contact the hospital for guidance on the restrictions.

Visitors are being asked to not visiting hospitals or health facilities if they have had the bug in the last three days. The move follows the identification of a number of cases of the Noro virus or winter vomiting bug.
