Two viable devices found in Limerick

Two viable bombs were made safe in Co Limerick yesterday evening.

The devices were discovered on a road in Donoughmore, a rural area on outskirts of Limerick city.

An Army bomb disposal team arrived at the scene – which had been cordoned off by gardaí – at 9.45pm.

The devices were made safe on the scene and handed over to investigating gardaí.

The scene was declared safe at 10.55pm.

A Defence Forces statement said Army bomb squad has dealt with 73 viable devices so far this year.
