Police in Belfast are investigating two separate armed robberies on food outlets in the city.

Two men, one armed with a gun and another with a knife, held up a staff member and a customer in a sandwich shop on Dublin Road shortly after 7pm last night and fled with cash.

The PSNI said both people were left badly shaken by the incident but were uninjured.

A few hours later, a raider went into a pizza shop on Donegall Road just after midnight and threatened a worker with a handgun. A sum of money was taken in the raid.
