Three men have been charged with robbery after their arrest following an armed raid at a Centra store on Tower Road, Clondalkin, west Dublin, yesterday morning.

The three are to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on January 24th next.

In the incident at about 8am yesterday, three men armed with an imitation firearm and knives had threatened staff.

They escaped on foot with cigarettes and cash, but a short time later were arrested nearby by uniformed gardaí in the area.

An imitation firearm, two knives, cash and cigarettes were recovered.

Gardaí said a car believed to have been stolen in the Lucan area and used in the incident was also found.

The suspects, all in their 20s, were held at Clondalkin Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

No one was injured during the robbery.
