Jerusalem - The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, the highest Muslim authority in the city, waved aside as nonsense any belief the world would end when Christianity's third millennium begins.
"Nobody knows when the world will end, except for God, but there are signs that will indicate the time is approaching," Mufti Ikrima Sabri said. They include the sun rising in the west and setting in the east, animals beginning to speak and the messiah arriving to lead the forces of good in a battle against the legions of evil. Mufti Sabri said one of the additional signs was that the holy city would be liberated from Israeli occupation and come under Arab rule.
