Surgery success:An eight-limbed Indian girl had a successful operation this week to remove the remnants of her "parasitic", undeveloped twin. X-ray pictures of the girl, Lakshmi, showed her unusual anatomy, which has led to her being hidden away for two years as villagers either revered her as a deity or attempted to buy her for the circus.
It is expected that the two-year-old will live a normal life following the operation, carried out by a team of 30 surgeons at a Bangalore hospital.

A Nottingham schoolboy got a 16th birthday present to remember when his mother sent a stripper to his drama class. She had actually booked a "gorilla", but a stripper arrived instead, made the boy crawl on all fours like a dog, spanked him 16 times and then stripped to her underwear. Finally, the teacher called it to a halt, at which point the stripper packed up and left the stunned classroom. The school's management, unsurprisingly, is investigating the incident.
