The RUC is to open a shop in Belfast's largest retail mall. Space has been rented on the ground floor of the Castle Court shopping centre on Royal Avenue, in the heart of the city, in a move to crack down on city centre crime and make officers more accessible to the public.
Republicans claim this represents a charm offensive by the force in an attempt to win Catholic support.
