The president of Republican Sinn Fein, Mr Ruairi O Bradaigh said the party "will not be driven underground as a political organisation".
Complaining of "barefaced police harassment" by the Garda Siochana, he said: "We shall continue to hold to our political viewpoint, to express it and to bring it to the notice of the people".
