A result in the recount in Wicklow to decide who will take the final seat in the General Election. is now not expected to be completed until tomorrow.

Outgoing independent TD Ms Mildred Fox was ahead of local Labour councillor Mr Nicky Kelly by 47 votes at the initial ninth count.

This margin narrowed to less than 10 votes when the 9th count was reached again.

One of the two will be declared the winner on the next count as they are the only remaining candidates. Either will have the option of seeking a recount then.
