Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a field close to the River Shannon in Co Clare earlier today.

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a field close to the River Shannon in Co Clare earlier today.

The body was found at around 3.30pm by a passer-by in the townland of Portdrine near Cratloe between Limerick City and Shannon.

The remains have been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a postmortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.
