24-year-old dies after van hits tree in Cloughjordan

A 24-year-old man was killed yesterday evening when the van he was driving crashed into a tree at Bantiss, Cloughjordan, Co Tipperary.

A 24-year-old man was killed yesterday evening when the van he was driving crashed into a tree at Bantiss, Cloughjordan, Co Tipperary.

The incident happened at about 5.45pm.

The man was the only occupant of the van. He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise where he was pronounced dead.

The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and diversions are in place.
