Man in custody after fatal Waterford crash

Woman (45) died following two-vehicle crash on N25

A 45-year-old woman has died after she was seriously injured in a crash on the N25 at Ballyduff West at about 11.45pm last night.

The woman's car collided with a van on the main Waterford to Dungarvan road and was taken by ambulance to Waterford Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car was also taken to hospital and it is understood that his injuries are not life threatening. The van driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A male aged in his 40s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Waterford Garda Station.
