Gardaí recovered ammunition and balaclavas yesterday after they stopped an SUV on the M1 motorway near Dundalk, Co Louth, writes Elaine Keogh.
A 33-year-old man from Newry was arrested after he was stopped by officers from the armed emergency response unit who were working with local armed detectives. They stopped him near Dundalk after having him under surveillance for some time.
He was arrested under the Offences Against the State Act and brought to Drogheda Garda station.
