Man dies in Limerick crash

A man in his late twenties died overnight after his car left the road outside the Limerick village of Granagh.

A man in his late twenties died overnight after his car left the road outside the Limerick village of Granagh.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick following the collision which happened shortly before 4am.

He was later pronounced dead. He was 29-years-old 

The road remains closed ahead of a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses or anyone who may have been travelling the road between 3.30am and 4am to contact them.
