An Englishman who cannot be named was charged at Cork District Court yesterday with raping his 22-year-old daughter at a Cork city hotel on Tuesday last.
Judge Tim Lucey heard the man (43) had not seen his daughter for 15 years and that he had travelled to Cork for a meeting with her after she sent him a Father's Day card. Sgt Declan O'Sullivan told Judge Lucey that he arrested the man at Cork airport at 4 a.m. after the alleged incident.
Refusing bail, Judge Lucey remanded the man in custody to Cork Prison. He will appear again at Cork District Court on June 27th.
