The First National Building Society is not to go ahead with legal proceedings in the Circuit Civil court to repossess the luxury home of the entertainer Adele Agnew, better known as Twink, and her husband David.

The society had earlier sought to recover Cooleven, Beaufort House, at Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham, after mortgage repayments had fallen into arrears.

Ms Margaret Heneghan, counsel for First National, told Judge Kevin Haugh that the proceedings, as well as a motion before the court, could be struck out.

The application indicated that the Agnews had met all outstanding commitments to the building society.
