Santa Cruz De Tenerife - A Spanish judge freed 19 members of an alleged doomsday cult detained for questioning after they apparently planned a second mass suicide attempt in a week, state radio said.
The suspected leader of the group is a German psychologist, Mr Heide Fittkau-Garthe, and most of the members are German. Police said they believed the world was going to end last Thursday and that a spaceship would rescue their souls from a Tenerife volcano.
