Man in ‘serious condition’ after being hit by truck in Dublin

South quays reopen but delays remain following early morning incident in city centre

A man is understood to be in “serious condition” after being hit by a truck on Merchants Quay in Dublin, according to gardaí.

Gardaí said the vehicle collided with the man, aged in his late 20s, at about 6.50am on Friday.

The man was taken to St James’s Hospital in Dublin. No other people were injured in the collision.

Merchants Quay and Essex Quay on the south side of the River Liffey have reopened after being closed to facilitate emergency services and a technical examination.
