Independent News and Media (INM) expects to report double-digit earnings in 2006 as advertising and circulation revenues remain buoyant across its worldwide operations.

The media group said in a trading update this morning that ad revenue is forecast to grow by 3.5 per cent in 2006 and circulation by a similar amount.

Against the strong revenue backdrop, tight cost controls should ensure earning growth of 10 per cent for the year, the group said.

"Early results for 2006 are fully in line with expectations and we look forward to another successful year of double-digit earnings growth," INM chief executive Sir Anthony O'Reilly said in a statement.
