Horse controls in effect

Dublin Corporation's new regulations to control stray horses came into effect yesterday

Dublin Corporation's new regulations to control stray horses came into effect yesterday. There are now up to 3,100 horses in Dublin city and county and the rules, under the Control of Horses Act, set out the procedures for keeping and stabling horses. Horses must be licensed for a fee of £25 and have a microchip ear tag. Only people over 16 years can own a licensed horse and wandering horses will be impounded.
